We are the controller for the personal data processed through this website.
What we collect and why
When you visit the site
Our hosting provider records technical data automatically: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, date and time, and the pages you open. We use this to operate the site securely and to identify faults. This data is not used to identify you personally and is not combined with other sources.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functioning website.
When you request the Swiss Soil Guide
We collect your first name, email address, the audience you select, and your language. We use them to send you the guide and, if you have ticked the box, occasional updates about soil, trials and our products.
You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by writing to us.
When you use the contact form
We collect your name, email address, organisation, canton or region, audience, and the details you enter about your site and objectives. We use them to prepare a recommendation and to contact you about it.
Legal basis: your request, and the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
When you become a customer
We process the data needed to fulfil, invoice and support your order, and we keep it for as long as Swiss commercial law requires.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies that are necessary for the website to function, including your language selection and your audience selection.
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
Video
Videos on this website are delivered by BunnyWay d.o.o. (bunny.net), Slovenia. When a video loads, your IP address is transmitted to their servers so the video can be delivered. We have selected this provider partly because it does not use your data for advertising or profiling.
Who receives your data
We use the following service providers, each bound by a contract to process data only on our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Infomaniak Network SA | Website hosting, email, file storage | Switzerland |
| Sendinblue SAS (Brevo) | Email and newsletter delivery | European Union |
| BunnyWay d.o.o. (bunny.net) | Video hosting and delivery | European Union |
| Pipedrive OÜ | Customer relationship management | European Union |
We do not sell your personal data and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.
Transfers abroad
Some of the providers above are located in the European Union. The Swiss Federal Council recognises the EU as providing adequate data protection, so no additional safeguards are required for these transfers.
How long we keep your data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Server logs | Access and error logs are kept for 7 days |
| Newsletter subscribers | Until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record so we do not contact you again |
| Contact form enquiries | 24 months after the last contact |
| Customer and invoicing records | Ten years, as required by Swiss commercial law |
Your rights
Under Swiss data protection law you have the right to:
- ask us whether we process data about you, and to receive a copy
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have data deleted where we have no legal obligation to keep it
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest
- receive data you provided to us in a machine-readable format
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time, without affecting processing that already took place
Write to contact@symactiv.ch. We may ask you to identify yourself before we act on a request. We respond within 30 days.
If you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern.
Security
We use encrypted connections (TLS) across the whole website and restrict access to personal data to the people who need it for their work.
Changes
We may update this policy when our processing changes. The current version is always published here, with the date of the last change at the top.
